You are getting sick more often, right? Colds that linger, your body feels inflamed. You don't bounce back the way you used to. You're tired, but it's deeper than tired. And maybe part of you has wondered, why is this happening to me? So I wanna say this clearly, girl, this is not random. And it's not just aging. This is the biology of compassion fatigue. See, when you're a helper, a healer, a high capacity woman, your nervous system is constantly tracking other people. You're tracking their pain, their needs, their emotions, and that's not just emotional, that is physiological. Every time you witness distress, your body responds as if it's happening to you. So that means cortisol is released, adrenaline increases, and your immune system shifts. Now, short term, your body can handle that, but over time, I mean, we're 25, 30 years into this over time with no full discharge, no true recovery. Your system stays activated and eventually. It doesn't just feel like stress. It becomes biological wear and tear, and here's what's happening underneath the surface. Chronic stress suppresses your immune system. Not immediately, but cumulatively. Your body starts to prioritize survival over repair, which means you become more susceptible to illness. Inflammation increases healing slows down your baseline. Energy drops. And here's the important part a lot of women miss. When your nervous system is dysregulated long enough, your body cannot fully return to a restorative state. Girl, even when you rest, even when you sleep, because your system doesn't feel safe enough to repair. So your body stays in this in-between place. Not fully activated. Not fully restored, and y'all, that is where sickness lives. So let's layer in midlife. Because y'all, it matters. As estrogen declines, you lose a key buffer against stress. Estrogen plays a role in regulating cortisol, so when it drops, stress hits harder, recovery takes longer, your system becomes more sensitive. So what you're feeling right now, it's not weakness. It's exposure. Your system no longer has the same biological protection that it once did, which means you can't push the same way you used to, and your body is letting you know. So we're gonna love our body. It's, it's doing what it's been designed to do, but this weekend I've got something for you. We're not fixing your health. We're not trying to get ahead of it.
