Are you looking for a stage where you will learn to improve your mental strength, emotional health, and fill your insecurities study and set up to take the first step to living a more meaningful life with a better manifest by three five tasks? I'm your post three. I'm a first-sided personal trainer, entrepreneur, and mother of three. I've helped empower thousands of women to take action through fitness, nutrition, meditation, personal development, and aligning thoughts with actions. This podcast is for those who are ready to feel inspired and motivated to live a more purposeful life. Let's grow together. Welcome to the podcast. Did you know being fit and being healthy are two completely different things? Just because someone looks skinny or looks ripped does not mean they are healthy. In today's episode, I talk all about my history with being really fit while also being the most unhealthy I have ever been in my life. I teach you five tips to help you become fit while also prioritizing your health. And let's be honest, it's not just about how you look if you're miserable the whole time. I hope you enjoy this episode and learn as much as I did. When I was competing in a fitness competition, I was the skinniest I have ever been in my life. And I talk about this in previous podcasts, but I was at 12% body fat, and I remember constantly getting compliments on how fit I was. And to the outsider looking in, I was the epitome of health. How I felt, however, was a very different story. I was so exhausted that I remember I had to take a nap just to make it through the day. My brain was foggy from lack of glucose because my carbs were so low. I was so sore after every workout because I wasn't eating enough food to actually replenish my workout, so I almost felt sick. I was moody and irritable, and I constantly had headaches. I had to take caffeine pills to have the energy to take care of my kids. And all of this was happening behind the seemingly perfect body. So being fit and being healthy are two very different concepts. Just because someone is fit does not mean that they are healthy. You can be ripped and lean and looked apart, but if your lifestyle and your body are suffering, then that is not health. And this is why setting goals can make or break your success. Because there are so many other factors to consider when you are setting a goal to become more fit. So here's a couple questions I want you to ask yourself. What do you want to accomplish with this goal? What do you think you will gain from being leaner? How do you want to feel? Is this actually going to help you become healthier and stronger or just smaller? So instead of focusing solely on your looks, I would try to set goals that will actually help you feel better. How do you see yourself? How do you value yourself? How can you increase your ability to build your self-worth? So here are five ways that will help you prioritize your health while getting fit. Number one is listen to your body. If you ever feel like you have no energy and you feel depleted after your workouts, that's a sign that you are not eating enough food to replenish your muscles after your workout. So make sure that you are eating enough carbs and protein after your workout so that you do not break down the muscle that you're trying to build. If you feel depleted and tired, it is usually your body talking to you. So listen. Number two, do you have balance? How much time do you spend each day worrying about what you're going to eat next or how your body looks in those pants or what your next cardio session is going to be? Do you feel obsessed or overwhelmed with your workout routine or diet? Do you feel drained thinking about doing this for a long period of time? This is your clue that you need to scale back. A program that will prioritize your health will not be all consuming. I want you to think about that. It will not consume your life. Number three, do you have time to connect? Are you taking time for self-care? And I'm a big proponent of this. If you follow me, you know that I'm obsessed with having time for self-care. And self-care is not going shopping, getting your nails done, getting your hair done. That is not self-care. Self-care is diving deeper, it's really getting to know who you are in your soul. So, do you have some sort of meditation routine or quiet time to rejuvenate your mind? What exercises are you completing for your mental health and your self-love? If you focus all of your time and energy solely on your physical body, you will never be satisfied when you get your dream body. It will never be enough because you don't have a solid foundation to begin with. You have to know your worth. You have to know you are more than just your body, or you will never be happy. Number four, are you fueling your body correctly? Is this new diet helping you to get the nutrients into your body that you need? Or is it all about restriction? So you have to ask yourself, is it about restriction or is it about health? How can you incorporate foods that will help your brain function and your hormones and getting a healthy gut biome? Because all of those things are what really truly matters, not necessarily how small you are or how skinny you are. How will you help to repair and regenerate cells when you aren't eating enough nutritious foods? So let's try putting more of an emphasis on the quality of your foods instead of restricting. Number five, I would say give yourself grace. When it comes to fitness goals, it's easy to get overwhelmed. It's even easier to fall into the all or nothing mindset and go into extremes. So ask yourself if your plan or program is going to help you stay consistent and do you feel good on it? If you feel like you have to white knuckle through the program, it won't stick and you will set yourself up for failure from the beginning. So give yourself grace and set small goals that will build your confidence and help you to feel successful. When you start prioritizing your health, you will be a happier, more content person. You will have the energy and stamina to complete your workouts and feel accomplished, and you'll be so proud of yourself. And that's the overall goal is to feel confident, strong, and happy. And I will tell you now that I'm out of that phase of competing in my life and I have the balance in my life, I am happy. I am so much more content with myself. I don't pick myself apart anymore. I eat foods because I want to feel good and fuel myself. I'm not constantly restricting. I'm able to eat a treat and not feel guilt. Um, I'm able to hang out with my friends and not have anxiety over what the food situation is gonna be like. And that is health, you guys. Health is not beating yourself up for hours and hours of cardio trying to get smaller or leaner or more ripped. Um, and health is also not feeling depleted and tired and hungry. So if that is you, let's reevaluate your goals. And I'm here to help if you do need some help. So let's take a step back and prioritize our health over just being fit.
