Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Health Defenders Redefined. I'm your host, anthony. Amen and welcome to Season 5. Guys, we made it all the way five years in doing this. It's been an absolute blast.

Speaker 1:

This year, we're going to have lots of fun stuff for you. We're going to have more raw footage, we're going to dive into topics even deeper, we're going to call people out and we're just going to have some fun with that today. That is why I decided for this year's first episode, we're going to dive into different predictions that I personally have for 2025. Not predictions anything else besides health and fitness, because I think this year things are going to change and change rapidly. So, without further ado, prediction number one out of the four predictions we're going to dive into today is RFK, the Rosa Ringer. This is a very broad spectrum prediction, but probably one of the first ones to happen RFK coming in to take over for the health department. There's going to be a lot of changes and a lot of awareness.

Speaker 1:

So where to start? First thing is we're on chemicals, and I think this is finally coming to the limelight. I know you guys know on our show, just to reiterate, a lot of ultra-processed foods are actually owned by the old tobacco companies. Ultra-processed foods are actually owned by the old tobacco companies. So those same foods you're addicted to, like those Lay's potato chips, are owned by those cigarettes that we used to be addicted to back in the 80s. So a lot of that is starting to come to light, with a lot more people noticing that simple ingredients such as Red Dye 40 are just not as simple as they may seem, as they may have some harmful side effects to us, such as increase in ADD and other learning disabilities associated with kids Things we give our kids all the time without realizing it. Hey, it's the color red. It's in candy. It looks good when really it's just some harmful chemical just to get a certain color and serves no other purpose whatsoever. Why is it in food? On top of that, as well as diving into the different red dyes, I think he's really going to come in and try to bang right off the get-go. I think we're finally going to get that polyunsaturated fat ban that's been trying to happen for the last 10 years. Wow, yeah, if you don't know the food industry by now, now you understand when you look at things like peanut butter and you go and buy that Skippy or that Peter Pan, which I know you guys don't buy. You read the back. It says trans fat zero, but then it says the second ingredient, partially hydrated oils, which are trans fat, meaning they're just changing the serving size to make it show zero grams. No, it's bad for us, but they wanted to lobby to make sure it took enough time to get it out. I don't know if they know this. They can just puree peanuts A weird thought. I don't know. Anyway, so that's something else. I think that's really going to take a hold as well as school lunches.

Speaker 1:

Now let's dive back and let's do a little history lesson for all of you, going back to the Obama era era. Give or take whatever you think about the obamas. Michelle obama came in with all the intentions of doing the same thing. Rfk did it, but she was doing it obviously in a different position and she was trying to get the school lunches to change. She said we had enough. Stop giving kids pizza. It's not a vegetable. Stop giving them fried chicken. There's nothing healthy in a cafeteria. What is going on? And the Pelican group came in, which owns 75% of all school cafeteria lunches, said we serve vegetables. And they took it to court and they won and proved that pizza was a vegetable because there's tomatoes on it. Oddly enough, I thought tomatoes were fruits either way. Don't really understand the lawsuit. So then she had to change her objective to play 60, which is get kids out, get kids be active for 60 minutes, and she pushed away from the food.

Speaker 1:

So I really hope he comes in. I really hope he opens up eyes. It's just disgusting that we still serve our youth food that is like no nutrition involved in it whatsoever, like that's a busy parent, myself included. You don't have time to sit there and make your kid lunch every single day. They're running at the door Sometimes you forget. Just easy to build them a couple of bucks and say go get school lunch and then then you know they're eating. Garbage is basically as good as going to mcdonald's every day and yet the kids have to take health class and learn about shitty information in school. That's been disproven over years, like I remember learning with the food pyramid, which now has turned nose, turned into my plate, which is so wrong still, it just utterly blows my mind that schools aren't going to catch up and I really hope that he comes in and makes a difference in this realm for us. That, along with some other things and a lot of people like talking about his anti-vax standpoint.

Speaker 1:

But whatever you may take for it, just to be totally transparent how I feel on this topic, vaccines in and of itself are a good thing and I totally believe that. But it is absolutely ridiculous, even now having a two-month open, looking at the vaccine schedule, how many we give our kids Don't call me on the exact number, it's like 45 shots they end up getting. By the time they're like 10. Crazy. We really have to open our eyes. And if kobe didn't show us anything, not all vaccines are safe, especially those that we must give a population and then aren't allowed to sue the companies if there's any side effects, nor are they allowed to report on it because they said so and then you have to take it or you're shunned. So I hope things really get opened up about that.

Speaker 1:

Obviously, I hope not all of them are taken away. I do think we need certain ones. For example, my grandfather is a survivor of polio and he suffered with this entire life. So things like that please go get. Not against that whatsoever, but giving a zero-year-old, one-year-old, two-year-old COVID vaccine when none of them have died from COVID probably not a good idea. I hope he really opens up the pharmaceutical industry as well as that, and speaking of pharmaceutical industries and the approach on that, if you've ever gone to a pharmacy recently, it is absolutely insane the lines at pharmacies. We are that addicted to medication. So I really hope that 2025 brings a change, an awakening away from the overuse of medications not medications as a whole, I think they're useful but constantly prescribing to people being on five, 10 different medications. We need to look at what's causing those issues as opposed to just giving people band-aids for them. So that's my prediction From that. I think everything starting January 20th is going to go up in the air. He's going to come out swinging. I really think you're going to see a lot of peoples in Congress's two true colors as I push against him and tell him not to. You're going to see a lot of lobbying against him. You're going to see a lot of lawsuits against him. I just hope he can take it and push through and really make some changes, like getting rid of these harmful dyes out of our food. So we'll see. Hopefully I'm right on that.

Speaker 1:

One. Moving on Semi-glutide has harmful side effects. I have said this for the last year, in 2024, the use of semiglutide or Zepic for uses outside of diabetes, for those that just want to take it for weight loss, has skyrocketed. March, april, may they just kind of was doubled every single month and everyone knows someone who went on semiglutide. I really think that we're going to see, in like late summer, different studies coming out about semiglutide, giving it to people who do not have diabetes, and saying, wow, it really screwed up their kidneys. It's really screwed up their metabolism. They've lost a lot of muscle as well as they've lost a lot of fat, meaning their muscle metabolic rate, or how many calories a day they burn at rest, has dropped and that's not good. They're getting their weight back exactly like gastric bypass surgery, which blows my mind how we still do that. But you're really destroying somebody's insides just to get them to lose 50 60 pounds and you're not addressing the underlying issue, which is an addiction to food and not understanding of what to eat, and have people personally my family who are along this side. They just need education. You need to educate people how to eat and be healthy and stop telling people that there's this quick fix out there that they can go get, so it's okay, they can eat like shit seven days a week. No, let's break it down. I really think some of my gutai is gonna have a lot of negative side effects and eat, potentially even pulled off the market by the end of this year. We'll see, we'll see. End of this year We'll see. We'll see, we'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 1:

Moving on to some positive news, I think the carnivore diet is going to be big. You've brought in the keto and obviously there's a lot of issues with the keto diet. I really think this year a lot of people are going to start waking up to eating meat. There was a study back in the 80s that showed red meat was harmful for you and it took years off your life and naughty you for eating all of that red meat. And then there was a lot of flaws in the study and doctors still push, say don't eat red meat. It's really, really, really bad for you and it's going to raise your cholesterol and do this and do that and cause cancer and you're going to grow six legs. I didn't at that part, but I think there's going to be a lot of more push towards eating more meat. But I'm going to get more specific on this. I personally believe, and I'm seeing it in grocery stores, so I know the trend is coming. Quote me on this Different meat options are going to skyrocket in the next year.

Speaker 1:

By the end of this year you're going to see more stores selling bison, elk and other game meat that has not necessarily been in stores have been overtaken by cow and pig. Blow away the market. People are understanding that they can eat red meat and eat leaner meats, healthier meats, things that aren't farmed like cows that are stuffed into a pen all day and just fed hay, or chickens that are crammed by the rows of hundreds that can't even move. They're saying, hey, we need healthier options, we need more sustainable options, and that's going to come with eating the proper kinds of meats that don't have all those harmful chemicals. Really think about this for a second. We go to push eat veggies, right, eat more veggies, eat more veggies. But yet the fields are getting sprayed with harmful pesticides. That how many lawsuits do you see? Have you been exposed to this pesticide? Call this number. And then we're going to eat that and there's no control. Then you're gonna say, anthony, I eat organic, the organic farms are next to the unorganic farms and there's something called wind, and then that wind blows the pesticides into the organic farm also. It goes into the soil and contaminates the soil and then the rainwater and it it basically doesn't matter.

Speaker 1:

We have destroyed our water supply in many parts of this country using pesticides and plants that I personally think eating too much plants is actually more of a bad thing than eating meat. Why is eating meat better? Generally speaking, animals that get a variety of plants meaning not really so much chickens, pigs and cows because they're so mass-produced in farm, but more of that game meat. They get a variety. They walk around. They don't eat from the same fields, right, they're going to eat trees down the road or whatever. They're not force-fed hay in a little barrel that we know is sprayed and processed because the farm is trying to get it cheap and plentiful, and they might be eating these pesticides, but their bodies are breaking it down, right, so they're breaking it down, and then we're getting it secondhand, meaning we're getting less pesticides and less harmful effects from animal products that we are directly, from the fruits or vegetables themselves. So, yes, fruits and vegetables are good for you. I also believe, though, that animals are actually way healthier when it comes to the pesticide aspect of things because you're getting way less. Because they are eating it right. They eat it, they gain it, they process it for you, helping you out. It's like a win-win Plus.

Speaker 1:

The carnivore diet tighten it with the push for protein finally is finally coming to light. A lot of podcast speakers I know are really harping on protein. Huge component of that Eat more protein. That was my New Year's resolution. I want everyone to say they're going to eat more protein because you're definitely not eating enough. You can do that inside the carnivore diet, getting complete proteins. Please stop telling me that plants are complete proteins. There's like three of them and I doubt you're eating those three. So please stop. Lentils are not complete proteins.

Speaker 1:

Irregardless, I really really see a trend of the carnivore diet. I think people are going to do it wrong, like they get keto. Don't get me wrong. They're going to be like if I just eat meat for a week, I'm going to lose 25 pounds. Like, no, that's not how that works. Just eat healthier meats. Eat leaner meats. Eat meats more frequently. Be cautious the way you're eating with your fruits and veggies. If you can grow them, even better right, because you can control what goes on it. But definitely a huge prediction carnivore diet coming in hot. Can't wait to see what happens. Screw that 1980 study that said red meat was bad for you. I'm still waiting to have a heart attack. I guess I haven't yet. Just kidding all.

Speaker 1:

Moving on to one of my last three predictions More money into the health and fitness world. This is my prediction. Tell me I'm wrong, I don't care. The economy has boomed since Trump won the presidential race. When he hops into office, I see the economy continuing moving. You feel it out in the atmosphere. People are getting more loose with their wallets, so meaning the stock market is starting to go up, consumers are going up, demand is going up and everyone's starting to realize one thing we need to put more money into our health, because it don't matter if you make a billion dollars and then you die by your 40 because you don't take care of your health right. Your health, your fitness, is one of the most, if not the most, important thing you should be investing your money into, because it is your brain health, right.

Speaker 1:

We have a huge mental health crisis in this country and we're seeing a turn finally at. The biggest cure to depression is diet and exercise Wow, crazy. And there's no negative side effects. So if we really put focus onto that just the mental side of things, getting people out of their shells I still think we're recovering from COVID in the aspect that people were so scared throughout 2020. And you're really starting to see people slowly come out of their shells. We're not there fully as a population yet. I think we're like 80% fully come out of their shells. We're not there fully as a population yet. They're like 80% I'll ask 20%.

Speaker 1:

I really see coming out this year, understanding the need to start working out. They need to put more trust in themselves and not the government and that's really going to throw a lot more money into health and fitness. And people are under the realization they need help and they're reaching out to people like me, other trainers in this country, other different sources of activities, groups, whatever the case may be. They're saying you know what? I don't know everything. What I learned was definitely wrong, especially if you went to school in like the 70s and 80s. So it's time I really reach out, get help, learn something new. A huge push, especially with, like the osteopenia, osteoporosis group, those that are saying, hey, I need to increase my bone density. Doctors are finally starting to recommend weightlifting. We're seeing it a lot in our gym right now. They're saying, hey, maybe try weightlifting before you hop onto the medication, thank God. So things like that are definitely coming in. I see the health and fitness field booming over the next year two years at least you're going to see trend jump 15 20 of consumer spending into this field. So those are my top four predictions I have for 2025.

Speaker 1:

If you agree, let me know. If you disagree, also, let me know. If you disagree, also, let me know. If you have something else you'd like me to talk about, please let me know. I'll have you to dive into a topic a little more Besides that.
