Come To Your Senses with Mary Lofgren

How to Stay Steady When Everything Says Hurry

Mary Lofgren Season 1 Episode 194

In the fall of 2020, I bought a house. I needed a few furnishings, so on the Friday after Thanksgiving I innocently wandered onto some home décor websites.

I was not prepared for the full-force assault on my senses that is Black Friday shopping.

I remember saying to a friend at the time, “I should have worn a helmet.”

Now, I’m not here to tell anyone they should or shouldn’t buy those bamboo sheets they’ve been eyeing.

But what I do know is this:

The urgency of Black Friday is a perfect metaphor for what happens when scarcity intensifies, and impulse takes over.

And while I love a good sale, what I love even more is the feeling of integrity, intuition, and ease around my purchases.

If that idea sounds good to you, I invite you to listen to today's episode.

I’m sharing a few of my own stories, and I’ve also included a special, soothing Black Friday meditation to help you get less swept up by the noise outside, and settle back into sanity and self.

P.S. If you’re craving a slower, softer way to move through the season, my new book Sensing the Sacred is the perfect anchor. It makes a lovely gift for someone you cherish, including yourself!  Explore the book and gift bundles here.
