Heal Yourself Podcast
Episode 37: Your Bank Account Reflects Your Beliefs
In this episode with Dr Katie Lush, we explore how true healing often requires a radical shift in perspective. We unpack the journey from chronic illness to holistic transformation and how embracing both science and spirituality can open powerful new pathways to wellness.
We also dive deep into the energetics of money, discussing how financial blocks are often rooted in unhealed emotions and limiting beliefs. Through this lens, healing your relationship with yourself becomes the foundation for attracting abundance and aligned opportunities. This conversation is a powerful reminder that inner work doesn't just change your life—it changes your bank account, too.

Speaker 3:Hello everyone, welcome back to another episode of Heal Yourself Podcast. You've got Kira today with a lovely stuffy nose, and we are joined by a guest I'm excited to share with you. Her name is Katie Lush and she is a life and business energy coach and she has kind of an interesting history as a former researcher and we're going to talk about that. So, katie, I'm actually going to let you introduce yourself to our audience.
Speaker 4:Hello everybody, I'm Katie and thank you so much for being here. It's always a pleasure to share my story and my work and it's really funny. Yes, because I actually started as a researcher. So I did all the academia. I was a formal researcher for about 20 years, so I was like a lab mouse.
Speaker 4:All of that and science was a big part of my life, was really big, big part of my life, and this means it was also a big, big part of the way I was thinking, and it still is. But, due also to my personal history, I started to integrate other philosophies and started to explore other worlds, like Eastern philosophies and things like that, and I started to integrate them and putting them together until one day I decided I wanted to do more than just the science and I really wanted to put out everything I found out, because I found out it can be so amazing and it can change lives so, so, so fast and much faster than I myself as a researcher could conceive before. Because I was so much in this mindset of science and testing everything, which I still am. I still have a very pragmatic mind, but I just opened myself to more extensive fields of science and also philosophy, hypnotherapy, mindset all of that is very, very big in my work now.
Speaker 3:Which this is amazing because so many people won't do that. You know it's, I'm clinically trained. I'm looking at the science over here, that's it. I live in my box. I will not get out of my box and you stepped out which is big, because not a lot of people are willing to do that and say, well, what about these other philosophies over here? What about this other stuff that people are talking about and calling woo-woo quackery, whatever they come up with?
Speaker 4:Yeah, yeah, that's true, but I think it was really the healing part that needed this and my self-opening. It was this myself, like I had severe autoimmune diseases which put me in a physical, emotional, emotional, mindset, even economical state that was not so pleasurable, and I know there are many people like that and I at one point nobody had a solution for me. Like I moved to different countries I was in Germany, us, uk, I traveled around the world to find a solution and nobody really had a solution for me. And the way I was put like in this box, was no science, medicine has no solution for you.
Speaker 4:And at that point I felt this need, no, this will not be my life and I refused that. This will become my life because I could not move even and I had pain 24-7 and the outcomes looked so terrible and it was actually a need that pushed me out of this box of science to look for other philosophies. So it was not all my endeavor, it was actually this need of looking for other philosophies. So it was not all my endeavor, it was actually this need of looking for other things. What I believe was my endeavor was then trying to bring all these concepts together, and my mind is scientifically trained but also very good at connecting things, and there was really where I think I did differently than many of my colleagues, but it was the healing need, and that's why I think healing is so important and such a big subject it is.
Speaker 3:But you know, I will also say and I'm just going to go back to you, I'm going to give you some credit here but I've spoken with so many women over the years I mean, I've been in practice now for almost a decade and they accept the pain. They accept. You know what I mean. They don't look for anything else. And you said no, I refuse to deal with this. Your identity was already shifting, and some people don't shift that identity, they just accept. And that's always our call to action on here Start shifting the way you think about things. Start shifting your identity. That's where healing starts to happen.
Speaker 4:I really strongly believe that healing, any kind of discomfort and where healing is called in is really trying to push us into a different identity, as you mentioned, pushing us into different mindset and and this is I know, I have been there in so many ways and forms it's so harsh and so hard for us because we feel the stretch. We are so comfortable in this own box, as you mentioned right and we feel the stretch like really, do I have to go out of my comfort zone, out of my box, like I know everything inside of my box and I'm doing great inside of my box, until the moment you are not anymore. And there is where healing comes in and where then you have to find out who you truly are and what you truly need.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah Well, I'm curious because I know you talk a lot about money and that's a big leap from the science world. How did you get to the space of talking about money and what does that look like? Because we've touched on it before on a previous episode, but it's always interesting because there are so many people in the world who need healing around money people in the world who need healing around money.
Speaker 4:Oh yeah, because I think money healing it really starts with healing oneself and starts with healing the relationship with yourself. And very often your mind can't conceive you having, I don't know, six figures, seven, ten, eight figures, whatever the numbers looks like and your mind cannot accept. Again, it's a matter of identity, but it can be many other things as well. It can be like people being afraid of exposing themselves, for example, or people being afraid of being more, because having more money requires again, you stretching your identity of what you are right now to become this other version of yourself that has more money. It's a different version of yourself and this different version has the good and the bad and the ugly. It has everything. So you just have to expand and allow yourself to expand.
Speaker 4:And very often people ask me oh, how do I take care of money blocks? How do I heal my money block? And I truly believe there are no money blocks whatsoever. There are no money blocks. There are personal blocks, there are emotional blocks, there are mindset blocks. There are a ton of blocks associated with money.
Speaker 4:Yes, for sure, but there are no money blocks because money is just a token, for energy is just a different version of saying you have a lot of energy like everything that is very valuable.
Speaker 4:Whatever we consider gold, oil, whatever we consider as valuable, we usually put a price on it, and even for the things that don't have a price, if we consider it valuable, we are willing to pay time or effort or it's.
Speaker 4:It's a matter of energy again, and if you heal yourself and you let the energy flow and you allow this energy to be part of yourself, then the money blocks dissolve. And I have seen this over and over and over again where, even with myself, it's like I I wanted more money but I didn't want to be exposed, for example, and I was comfortable because I had enough. I had enough as a scientist, I had enough as a coach, I had enough, but to get more I had to be more and I had to be more exposed. And there were blocks there, but were not money blocks, they were my personal blocks. And I think here's the, the, the difference to look at it, because it's nothing that is external to us, is something that is within us, and the beauty of that is, if sensing is within us, then we have the power to change it.
Speaker 3:And this is where it goes back to energy, which is an interesting conversation. I don't know if people are ready to hear it completely, but the idea that money doesn't come just from hard work. If it did, look at these people working two or three jobs, they should be multimillionaires. It's not. Money comes from who you're being and that's the energy piece, not saying that you can sit on the couch and do nothing, you know, scroll your phone all day and expect money to just flow in.
Speaker 4:Yes, you have to do some stuff, but you're right, the more that you work on healing that internal piece, the more the money becomes attracted to you, because it's energy and very often people forget things, like they work so hard and then suddenly they get a little bit of money and a big bill comes out of nothing and they go back to square one. How often does this happen? Or they are finally getting there and suddenly illness comes in, some kind of illness or some kind of house problem, and suddenly they go back to square one where they started, where their money level they feel comfortable with. And most people don't think about it in this way. And what I see a lot as well is with business owners because, as you mentioned, for sure we have to put the action in. If we lie down on the sofa, scroll on our phone and do nothing, we are also not putting the energy flowing, our action flowing, putting ourselves out there, and for sure we are not becoming who we want to be right. So we have to do it to become it that that we want to be, but only when. When we do that, that the money finds kind of roads to come in, that's for sure.
Speaker 4:But how often are people doing stuff and going back to square one? And most people don't think about it. And with business owners, as I was talking about, it's like how many of my clients started with oh, I can get a lot of low paying clients, but no high paying ticket clients. Why is that? What are the aspects that they have to work with, what are the aspects that have to be dealt with? And I can tell you it's not an extra course. Usually it's not an extra course. Usually it's not an extra course. It's not an extra skill. It might be, sometimes it is, but very often is something deeper some belief, some fear, some, um, not wanted to to expand, not being afraid of this different identity that they can become yeah, well, in this, I mean I'm still going to tie it back to money.
Speaker 3:But I'm curious when we hear healing, a lot of times we assume it's physical healing. Right, oh, I need healing because I have fatigue, I need healing because I have pelvic pain, whatever it might look like. But there's a deeper layer of healing. Obviously Are there signs to look for when someone needs healing.
Speaker 4:Oh my God, healing. I usually like to start with very basic and very simple. Like to start with very basic and very simple and I strongly believe if a person feels some kind of discomfort, if there is some kind of unease, this is a sign that there is some healing necessary at a certain level of that person, and really it is. As you said, we associate healing with the physical pain. But if we use that as an example and I kind of touched that at the very beginning if we have, like, a chronic issue or some kind of long term physical problem, our emotions get affected, the way we feel get affected and our mindset get affected, the way we feel get affected and our mindset gets affected, and, on a longer term, our income many times gets affected as well. And what this shows, or what this indicates, at least for me, is that they are actually associated.
Speaker 4:And when we do the healing and if I talk about healing money issues what happens is we have to think in the same way, but reverse and is actually I like to use this example of like, when we go up to a mountain and we are just going up and going up and as we go higher we start to say things that we didn't see before.
Speaker 4:We start to have a different perspective and we start to reveal aspects of things that were always there but we couldn't see. And then other things we look at them differently because we already been there and we already overcame it. And healing money really very often requires healing what I call the whole body, holistically, like the physical part, the emotional part, the mindset and some people like to say the spiritual part. But I think money really can affect all of them Because, for example, I know people they don't really want more money, even if they say they want, because if you ask anybody, if you want more money, even if they say they want, because if you ask anybody, do you want more money? Everybody wants.
Speaker 4:But then what comes up if we talk about money? Oh, I'm greedy, I'm not a good person, other people will not talk with me, my friends will not love me anymore, and none of this it's money's fault. Money is neutral, has nothing to do with that. It's really where are you in the mountain when you go up, like, in which position are you and which position are you willing to go? Because you need an effort to go to the next step, because it's not always comfortable, for sure, but the view can be amazing and the perspective can be amazing and the feeling when you are up there can be amazing, like you manage, you did it and actually you are able to do more than you expected.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, and that's such a good way of looking at it. I know people are going to ask and there's never just a few simple things, right. This is always a loaded question. I ask it on every call but how do you get started healing your relationship with money? Like, like, is there something that someone can do, because I goodness knows most people have issues with money?
Speaker 4:and I think we start not with what people can do, but who they want to be. Who do you want to be? This is a question I ask most of my clients is like who do you want to be? Who do you want to be? This is a question I ask most of my clients is like who do you want to be and what are the traits of that character? Let's imagine it's a character and you want to become that celebrity. Let's say it like this, because people associate celebrities with a lot of money. Let's imagine you want to be a certain celebrity, whatever that is A person that you identify with and who do you want to be? Which celebrity it is? And then, which traits does that person have? Like, is it kind? Is it confident? Is it authentic? How is that person? What are the traits of that person? And once you have that, then you have the direction you want to move towards and it's not really a goal of what you do is you are directed for whom you want to become, who you want to be, and that gives you direction. And then starts the action part, like what do you have to change today? Let's imagine you want to become more confident. What can you do to become more confident? What can you do to become more confident? What is interfering with your confidence? Is it really because you are afraid that other people see you? Are you afraid that your worth is really not enough? Is your value, uh, what is it?
Speaker 4:Once we start to identify the different parts, then we start the doing. The doing, then, is really closing the gap between the steps. The doing then starts there, but you have to set the direction, and what I see very often is people think, oh, what do I do to get money? And then whatever, yeah, and and it doesn't work. And it doesn't work because they didn't consider what I call the you factor. It's like the you factor, like what are your values? What are your values? Who do you want to become?
Speaker 4:What do you love doing? What comes easy to you? And after you put this together, you have this direction and then you close the gap. And if you just go around and do this and this and that, it works sometimes, it does work sometimes, but very often it doesn't, or not to the extent that it could and, more importantly, not with the ease as it could, because we associate money with effort and it's not necessarily yes, yes, needs action. But what is more effort? Working on a job that you really hate and you're like on sunday you're already suffering because you have to go there or doing something you really love, even if you work the same amount of hours, yeah, what is harder? So for me it's not a matter of effort, it's really a matter of coming back, coming back, coming back.
Speaker 4:And there's something I love to make things easy. I love to make things easy and I think the easiest path very often is the best Easiest not in the sense of non-ethical easiest for each person individually. And then let's have fun. Can we have fun? Can we explore again? Like I love this attitude of a child Of exploring, of having this curiosity of looking and, because many of us, we don't even know who we are we've lost it yeah, and very often we just took in what society told us our parents, our families, our academia, our science, our medical field, all of that.
Speaker 4:We just took this in and we forgot who, what we like and what we want to become and we forget the you part. And very often we have to peel like an onion. We have to peel these different layers until we go and find the essence again and from there we build in again.
Speaker 3:We build up and this is so much like physical healing too. So for those listening that are like, oh, my money's okay, but you're dealing with physical issues, it's the same thing. This is what I always tell my clients. We can throw a million supplements at it and run labs, but if you don't even start to embody the person of someone, that is well. If that's so far out of your realm because you've been sick for so long, you're not going to get better. And that's a hard one to hear, but it's the same thing. You have to go back to the you piece. If you hate your life, if you hate everyone around you, you've been suffering for so long. You do nothing that brings you joy. Why on earth is your body going to respond in a positive way?
Speaker 4:Because all you're feeding it is negativity, negativity, and it's the same with money and it's exactly the same as money, and that's why I think healing is a holistic process and we can actually start in different parts, and we always have to to do it truly and thoroughly. We have to integrate the different parts because we are one body, we are one being and things are connected and it's like your body has the physical part, but your emotions have chemicals that interfere with the physical part and your thoughts have chemicals that interfere with the physical part, and your thoughts and your feelings and your emotions interfere with your genes and and we are in this loop. Yeah, no matter where we start, we can interfere with the other fields. Yeah, it's all connected.
Speaker 3:it's all connected and I love it because of that, because you can always be more yeah, we can well, for those that are interested in working with you, how do they find you?
Speaker 4:so I will leave my socials behind. So Instagram is the easiest that I respond, which is drkatylash, easiest that I respond, which is drkatylash, and, but I will leave my socials behind. There is also landing page. I will also leave a freebie for everyone to explore it, where I will talk. It's a guide. It's actually designed initially for business people. There are people that want to start a business or a side hustle, but it starts really exploring the.
Speaker 4:You factor, your energetic signature, so there are like questions you can answer to start to help you to explore who you are and what you want to become, and so there's a bunch of things there that I think they are pretty useful for a lot of people and we all would gain if we spend half an hour extra just doing it.
Speaker 4:And there is also a contact form. So this page there there's also a contact form that people can contact me and reach me. Contact me and reach me, and I'm happy to help and to support people around and I hope, more than anything else, I wish that me coming out of my shell and starting to speak more publicly helps others to see the possibility, because if I was able to go from severe disability to help other people, everybody can do it. Everybody can do it. And I I was not born in the golden cradle either, so it's it's like there is possibility, even if there's physical ailments, even if there's like emotional ailments, there is a lot of possibilities, yeah, and believe you can do it yes, oh well, it was such a pleasure having you on.
Speaker 3:You guys know everything will be in the show notes. You can find Katie that way.
Speaker 4:Yeah, this was such a great episode, so thank you so much change the world, one person at a time, one step at a time, and I truly believe each of us has immense power in immense potential and immense capability to have healing physically, emotionally, psychologically and money wise. And it's possible. And we just we have to believe we can do it. And we have start doing it, and one step at a time, and I hope this goes as an inspiration for many of your listeners, as well, I'm sure it will be all right.
Speaker 3:Guys, we will see you on the next episode. As always, we would love your feedback. Dm us on Instagram, leave us a review, share it with a friend, do all the things.
