Discovering Neville Goddard
SPEAKER_00Welcome to another episode of Premium Content. It's Denise. And yesterday, and I don't believe in anything random, I received something on YouTube from Neville Goddard. I hope I'm saying the name correctly, but he's an old author. He passed away in 1972. But uh the video was about the law of assumption, assuming the feeling. And then I looked him up real quick on Wikipedia, and it just said that Dr. Wayne Dye mentioned him in his book. Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote his book, Wishes Fulfilled, based on the teachings of this author, of Neville, who I think was also an actor and a dancer. Who I loved the video. I'm not sure if it was AI, it was his voice. I downloaded Neville's book on my Kindle, and it is the feeling is the secret. As I was read reading the first few pages, I tied in also what I've learned from Kathy Heller about the feeling. We don't get what we want, we get who we are being. And feelings and emotions play a big part of who we are being. Also in her book and in her teachings, I'm just because I feel that uh sometimes, you know, we have new authors, new people uh interpreting and also talking about things like whatever Kathy Hallard talks about in her book is more related to when, you know, from someone who wrote a book in 1934, when the life was different, the uh the language, the linguistics, the words, I feel it's just you understand the nowadays, right? That's why sometimes people are saying the same thing but in a different way, because also you have different levels of understanding, of thinking, of processing, etc. We are also changing as human beings as well, right? So in his book, you know, Neville and also, you know, Dr. Wayne Dia also says, assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled. Assume the feeling. So, and then, but I love how Kathy puts it. And today in my journal, I did the exercise. In a circle, I put in my wishes. What is the wish that I want? Those are my wishes. And in another circle, I wrote the emotion. When I have the wish, what is the emotion? What is the feeling that I get from that wish? Right? So I wrote down my wishes, the things that I want, and then the feelings tied into those. You know, there's joy, peace, freedom, excitement, whatever it is. And then I wrote down assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled. So, for example, you know, when I, and then, you know, like let's say, you know, I'm driving or I'm walking or whatever it is, and then I get a thought. So that thought, I take that thought. So, and this is where awareness that we always talk about comes in. So the thought is, for example, that's the thought. And we're like, wait a minute, but this thought is evoking an anxious feeling or nervousness or worry. It is not evoking calm or peace, which is basically the feelings that I want to assume of the wishes fulfilled. And that's what I want to share with you is a quick exercise. Write down or put in a circle all of your wishes, everything that you actually want, whatever you want, but then also write in another circle the feelings you know that you are looking for. And then remind yourself on the moment-by-moment basis of those emotions. So if you want calm, because so let's say you want to a million dollars because you want freedom, assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled, meaning assume the feeling of freedom, and then you get a thought, and then you remind yourself is this a thought, is this thought giving me freedom or giving me anxiety? If it's giving you anxiety, then you just wish it away or put it in the trash and then think of another thought. Wait a minute, this thought is giving me freedom. It is the thought I am assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled.
