Hello. I've always loved June. I always see it as a month that's woven with wonder.
The days stretch long into golden evenings. And the light, well it lingers like a gentle promise. The roses in my garden bloom in quiet glory.
Bees hum busily in the warmth, and butterflies dance on the breeze. There's a softness to the air, balmy, sun-kissed, and full of possibility. Smiling eyes meet you on walks with easy hellos exchanged under green canopies.
Strawberries taste sweeter somehow, whether at a picnic or during a quiet moment watching Wimbledon. Gardens become sanctuaries, cups of tea in hand. Or you might find yourself chasing shade with an ice cream in the park.
There's something about June. Joy feels effortless. It's the month when the world feels wide open, and the simple things shimmer with magic.
The Lebanese poet, Kahlil Gibran, said, Be like the flower, turn your face to the sun. And I think his words capture the spirit of the summer solstice. A time of light, growth, and renewal, just as flowers turn towards the sun to thrive.
This season invites us to face the light, embrace abundance, and align ourselves with nature's rhythm. So in today's episode, we are focusing on the solstice, because it can teach us about optimism, presence, and the cycles of life. So as you settle into stillness, find a comfortable seated or lying position.
Gently close your eyes and begin to connect to your breath. Soft, natural, and flowing. Let the rhythm of your breathing anchor you into this sacred moment.
As we honor the summer solstice, let's remember it is a time of radiant light, growth, and transformation. With the sun at its zenith, nature is blooming in full expression. So too can you bloom into your most vibrant self.
And start by bringing your awareness to the crown of your head. Slowly scan down through your body. Release any tension as you move your attention from the crown of your head to your forehead, to your jaw, to your neck, to your shoulders.
Invite them all to soften with each breath. Feel yourself letting go. Soften your heart, your belly, your hips.
Let your body rest. Feel supported by Mother Earth. Feel held.
All is well. You are safe. And breathe in to your solar plexus.
Just below your ribs, imagine a golden light beginning to glow there. Warm, vibrant, alive. And then bring your awareness to your heart space, the very center of your chest.
Visualize your heart as a radiant sun, glowing with the warmth of summer. This is the seat of your inner sovereign, the wise and benevolent ruler of your inner kingdom. Your heart is not a commander of force, but a guide of compassion, integrity, and kindness.
It oversees the organs of your body, not as a dictator, but as a benign sovereign. Caring deeply for the well-being of all, it encourages harmony, cooperation, mutual support. Let your heart speak now.
Ask, how can I rule my inner world? With more love. Where can I extend more kindness to myself and others? Give yourself some space and time, and see if you can feel the answers rise gently within you. How can I rule my inner world? With more love.
Where can I extend more kindness to myself and others? Let whatever arise come up in its own way. Allow your sovereign heart to bless every part of you like a golden sun, warming the kingdom within. And then bring your awareness to your solar plexus, your seat of personal power, ambition, and will.
On the longest day of sunlight, feel your own inner sun rise to meet the peak of nature's brilliance. This is your driving force, your will to act, to grow, to choose the life you want to live. Breathe into this golden core.
Let it expand with each inhale. Say silently, or aloud, I trust in my inner fire. I am strong.
I am purposeful. I am aligned with the sun's vitality. I trust in my inner fire.
I am strong. I am purposeful. I am aligned with the sun's vitality.
Now with your heart as your sovereign, and your solar plexus as your fire, imagine yourself standing in the sun-filled golden water that pours down from the sky. It touches your skin like a blessing. You are safe.
You are supported. You are nurtured. You are seen.
Let this light flow into every cell. Imagine around you a garden of possibility. All the areas of your life are represented here.
Relationships, creativity, health, work, dreams. Which area draws you in? What do you want to grow in this bright season? Relationships, creativity, health, work, dreams. Let a clear intention rise.
Hold it gently. Feel it take root. Now say to yourself, I plant the seeds of growth with love and courage.
I plant the seeds of growth with love and courage. I nourish my dreams with trust. I nourish my dreams with trust.
I welcome positive change. I welcome positive change. And then see this intention bloom in radiant color.
What color comes to mind now for you as a radiant color? Feel yourself expanding with light. You are connected to the sun, to the earth, and all that grows. Repeat these affirmations with feeling, letting them infuse your whole being.
I am a radiant being of light. I am attuned to the rhythm of life. I'm connected to the ebb and flow of the ocean.
I am aligned to the vibrant life force of summer's blooming flowers. I witness my own blooming into my fullest, best self. Let these words become truth in your body.
Breathe them in. I am a radiant being of light. I am attuned to the rhythm of life.
I am connected to the ebb and flow of the ocean. I am aligned to the vibrant life force of summer's blooming flowers. I witness my own blooming into my fullest, best self.
Breathe these words in. Feel them anchor in your heart, in your solar plexus, and through every single part of you. Feel your body resting in calm power.
You are held by the earth, blessed by the sun, and guided by the heart. You are your own sovereign. You walk with purpose.
You grow with grace. You shine with radiance. And this is a quote by Margaret Atwood.
This is the solstice. The still point of the sun Its cusp and midnight. The year's threshold and unlocking.
Where the past lets go of and becomes the future. The place of caught breath. The door of a vanished house left ajar.
This is the solstice. The still point of the sun. Its cusp and midnight.
The year's threshold and unlocking. Where the past lets go of and becomes the future. The place of caught breath.
The door of a vanished house left ajar. This light, this beautiful light. And if you happen to live in Iceland, maybe in Reykjavik, you actually get the sun at midnight.
The land of the midnight sun. Wherever you may be in the world, carry this light into your day, into your season, and into your life. All is well, and all will be well.
Namaste. Go gently. Thank you.
