Episode #12 – Season #2
When Nothing’s Wrong…But Something Isn’t Right

Some days are harder than others, even when life seems to be going okay on the outside.

In this episode, I open up about one of those days. The kind where getting out of bed feels like a challenge, where your thoughts feel heavy, and where you can’t quite explain why you feel the way you do.

This isn’t a polished or perfect conversation, it’s a real one.

I talk honestly about anxiety, low mood, and those moments where you feel stuck despite doing everything “right.” I also share 10 simple, practical things that can help shift your mindset, ease the pressure, and remind you that you’re not alone.

If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Why do I feel like this?” this episode is for you.

We’re not here to fix everything today.
We’re just here to get through it… together.

Good morning, La Hawksbury Social Listeners, and welcome back to the podcast. This is episode 12 of season 2, and today's episode is a real one to me, and a real one to many of you. If not all of you feel this sometimes. I'm going to be honest with you right from the start. Today I'm not feeling my best. There are days wake up and I just don't have it in me. Days where I feel stuck. Days where getting out of bed feels like a challenge. And days where my thoughts don't feel like they're mine to control. And today everyone is one of those days for me. But I still showed up. Not because I have all the answers, but because I don't. And maybe just maybe someone listening right now feels the same way. You ever have those days where everything around you feels fine? Life isn't falling apart, nothing major is going wrong, and maybe even some things are going right. But inside you feel anxious, you feel heavy, and you still feel off. And you sit there thinking, why do I feel like this? I should be okay. What's wrong with me? Let me tell you something guys. There's nothing wrong with you. Mental health doesn't always have or follow logic. Um it doesn't care if things look good on paper. Sometimes your brain just decides to fight you. We haven't talked before about medication and trying different things and doing the work. And I've done that. I've used some of the best tools available. I've taken steps to improve. But even then, there are still days like today. Days where I feel like I've lost control of my thoughts. Days where motivation disappears. Days where even simple things feel overwhelming. And if you're listening and thinking, yeah, that's me too, then this episode is for you as well. So today I want to do something simple. I don't have all the answers, but I do have some things that help. I'm going to share ten things, real practical examples, that can help with anxiety, depression, mood, and just getting through the day. No fixes, no cures, just tools, guys. So here are to the 10 ways to feel when when you feel this way. Ten ways that that can help. Okay, so I'm gonna start with number one, which is lower the bar for the day. Sometimes we expect too much from ourselves. On days like this, getting out of bed is enough. Brushing your teeth, that's a win. Taking a shower, huge win. You don't need to conquer the world today, just exist, and that's okay. Number two, move your body even a little guys. You don't need a full workout. Stand up, stretch, walk around the room, step outside for two minutes. Movement tells your brain, hey, we're still here, and sometimes that's enough to shift the things a little bit. Get some fresh air is number three, guys. There's something powerful about stepping outside. Even if it's cold, even it's even if it's just for a minute, look around, breathe in the fresh air, and you're part of something bigger than you than your thoughts for a second. Have you ever thought about that? Number four, talk to somebody you trust, guys. When you talk to someone you trust, what does it do? You don't have to explain everything perfectly. Just say, hey, I'm not feeling great today. That's it. You'd be surprised how much lighter things feel when you don't carry it alone. Number five, limit overthinking triggers social media, news, comparisons. And guys on days like this, they can make everything worse. Giving your brain a break, you don't need all that noise today. Number six, focus on one small task, not ten things, and not your whole to-do list that you have on your desk or in a drawer or on your fridge. Because well probably not. Try replacing I'm useless today with I'm having a hard day. That shifts matters. Make your bed. Wash a dish. Reply to one text message. Small actions create momentum. Number seven, be careful with your self-talk. Notice how you speak to yourself. Would you say those things to a friend? Probably not. Try replacing I'm useless today with I'm having a hard day, which can break up what matters the most. Number eight guys. So I say create a comfort routine. Find something that feels safe. Like your favorite show. A warm drink. A blanket. Put your favorite music on. This isn't laziness, this is recovery. Number nine. Accept that bad days happen. No matter how much you fight it, guys, bad days are gonna happen. This is what this one is hard, I admit. But fighting the feeling sometimes makes it worse. Instead of saying I need to get or feel better right now, try today is a tough day, and that's okay. You're allowed to have these days, guys. You're all allowed to have bad days. Remind yourself, this passes. Even if if if you don't feel like it has, this feeling is temporary. You've had bad days before and you made it through, and you will again. Now guys, I say this as a reflection, I guess, of what I've just said in the ten things that I think would help your day, not necessarily perfect your day. I'm saying that uh none of these things are magic. And not all of them will work every time. But sometimes even one of them can make a small difference, and small differences are what matters. Guys, I want to read for you, uh not usually the type to read this on the podcast, but I'm going to read you from Matthew 7, 8. Jesus calms the winds and the sea, and when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And behold, those there arose great tempests in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves, but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him and woke awoke him, saying, Lord, save us, we perished. And yet unto them, what why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose and he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm, but the man marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this? And then even the winds of the sea obey him. Now I'm uh new to reading my uh King James Bible, but uh I'm getting through some of the readings, and that was one that I had come across, and I wanted to just bring it to you guys because basically what that says is that Christ was trying to tell the men that ye have little faith, ye have little faith. Because people are like that too. We don't have enough faith in ourselves. You know, we've been given everything that we could possibly want, yet we're still sad or depressed or anxious or angry or lusting for somebody somebody else's life. So, um, yeah, I just wanted to leave that to you. And uh before we wrap up, I just want to say this. If you're struggling right now, believe me when I say this, you're not alone. And if you're struggling right now, you're not alone. But even a little bit, not even a little bit. I'm right here with you today, feeling it too. And I'm still here, guys. And I'll be here for the next episode, God willing. Still showing up, still trying. Even listening to this means you're trying, and that counts. Thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting this podcast, and honestly, thank you for supporting me and giving me a reason to get up every day because some days, like today, that support is what helps me show up. This has been episode number 12 of season number two of Lehawksbury Social. Take care of yourselves, be kind to your mind, and we'll talk again soon. Remember, be kind to everyone, guys.
