Hi, and welcome to The Mindful Shape Podcast. I'm Paula Parker and my work centers around helping you feel in charge around food and good in your body. This is going to be part one of two. The first part is going to be an intro to the second part, which is a practical application to release stored energy, also known as excess body fat.
So lately I've been. Almost transfixed with this one question. It's a question that's like one of those posters from the nineties that you had to stare at a really long time, like relax your eyes until the 3D image appeared. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, just Google Magic Eye poster. It was, it was a thing for a while and it's just, it's one thing on the surface, but then there's so much more.
There when you stay with it. The question is, what if body fat is just stored energy waiting to be released? What if body fat is just stored energy waiting to be released on the surface? We say, yeah, okay. My excess body fat is stored energy from previous overeating, so I ate more food than my body needed, and it's stored it as fat.
To be used later if and when it would be needed. Then. So if I don't eat, then my body will release it and utilize it as energy so that I can live and work in the world. Okay? So your body is naturally intelligent in this way. Alright, so we can all agree, we can all get on board with that. That's the mechanism of losing weight, releasing excess body fat.
But what if we look a little deeper? Body fat is stored energy waiting to be released. Let's get a little esoteric for a second. So your excess body fat is excess energy. Emotions are also energy. Emotions are electrochemical signals that travel through your nervous system, influencing your brain and bodily responses, so you feel it.
It's a physical sensation. What if we consider that the stored energy on your body is not only energy stored from food and overeating, but energy stored from unprocessed, unintegrated, or what we can think of as non transmuted emotions. Then your outer weight, your body is a reflection of inner, energetic, or emotional states.
So I'll say that again. Your body, the outward appearance of your body is simply a reflection of inner, energetic, or emotional states. So set in a different way. Your outer body is a mirror to your inner weight. There is an outer weight and an inner weight. So then the question becomes, what's the emotional equivalent of your physical weight?
And how might we begin the process of integrating and releasing that? Now, my theory is that. There are many ways to do this. Very practical ways of doing it, and one way is to create safety in your nervous system and align your subconscious mind with releasing anything you no longer need stored stagnant energy of any kind.
So in part two, I'm going to guide you through a. Meditation for exactly this purpose. It will relax your body, calm your nervous system, and restore your mind. So it's meant to align your subconscious mind with safety, trust, and healthy fat release. You can do this meditation sitting down, lying down, even.
Or walking if you prefer a moving meditation, preferably in nature if you can, but we will, you know, take it where you can get it. If the only thing you can do is walk in the city and listen to it, then by all means, and if it's available for you, it's often a nice ritual to light a candle. You're infusing that fire energy into the practice.
Even better light it with the intention of channeling energy into your meditation practice. Okay. That was a quick intro to give you a little bit of the backstory and the purpose behind the meditation that I invite you to do. That's, you'll find that in part two. Okay. I'll see you there.
