Welcome to the Healing Mini Mile. I'm Carrie, your walking bestie, and by the end of this short walk, you'll feel more awake, centered, and ready to take on the day. If your morning has been feeling sluggish or scattered, this is your reset button. No pressure, no rushing, just a few mindful minutes to move your body and clear your mind for the day ahead. So let's start right here. Take a deep breath in through your nose, filling your belly with fresh air, and exhale through your mouth, letting go of yesterday. This is your clean slate. Let your steps find a steady rhythm. Feel your arms swinging naturally at your sides, your shoulders softening. With every step, your body sends your brain a message. We're safe, we're moving, we're alive. Your blood starts to flow, your oxygen rises, and your nervous system shifts from groggy to alert. Notice the air against your skin. Maybe the light changing around you. The sound of your own footsteps. Each sensory cue reminds your brain we're here and we're present. This is how momentum begins. Gently, quietly, with you simply showing up. Now that you've found your rhythm, let's anchor our intention. Say it with me in your mind. We are creating momentum that lasts all day. We're not waiting for motivation, we're generating it. Every step is forward motion, literally and emotionally. We're setting the tone for how the rest of this day will feel. So take one more breath. And imagine the energy of this walk rippling into everything ahead. Conversations, choices, attitude. Most people wait until they feel ready before they move. But energy doesn't show up first. Movement creates it. Think of it like this: your body is like a solar panel. It charges when it's in motion, not in bed, scrolling or replaying your to-do list over and over at your desk. That first step you took in this walk, that was you plugging in. When you move, your muscles signal your brain to release dopamine, the chemical of drive and reward. You start to feel a subtle lift. Focus sharpens, confidence rises. You don't need hype or hustle. You just need to begin with that first step. I used to dread mornings. Coffee first, mind racing, body dragging. Then I started walking before I checked my phone, before I checked my emails, before I had my coffee. And within minutes the fog lifted. It wasn't magic, it was biology. Movement actually flips the switch. So instead of fighting mornings, walk into them. Let them unfold step by step. Momentum always begins with one small decision. I'm doing this now, whether I feel like it or not. And it's gonna set the tone for the rest of your day. So as we keep walking, notice how your body feels. More awake, more alive, more present. That's not just in your head. Movement increases serotonin too for calm and focus. It raises that dopamine for motivation. It lowers cortisol, your stress hormone. You're literally changing your chemistry in real time. Think of this as your morning alignment practice to come back to every morning, like tuning an instrument before the music begins. Here's how to keep this harmony going. Number one, move first, think later. When motivation dips, skip the mental debate with yourself. Just start. Start motion, any motion. Even a two-minute stretch or a walk around the kitchen triggers your brain's go system. Number two, choose a Y word. Pick one word that captures how you want to feel today. Calm, confident, focused, grateful. Repeat it in rhythm with your steps. Your brain uses repetition to strengthen neural pathways. The more you say it, the more your mind believes it. So walk with your Y word. Say it over and over and over again. And number three, close the loop. When you finish this walk, take one small intentional action. Drink a full glass of water. Tidy your space, make it neat, make it feel good. Send that text message you've been avoiding. Choose one small intentional action. Small actions compound. Each one reinforces the identity you're walking into. And here's a bonus tip backed by Circadian Science. Get a little sunlight on your face within an hour of waking. Natural light tells your brain it's morning, boosts alertness, and anchors your body clock for better sleep tonight. That's the power of intentional mornings. Science and soul working together. Okay, now slow your pace just a little. Feel your breath, start to steady. Notice how different you feel from when we started. More clear, more anchored. Let your attention drop from your head into your heart. Ask yourself this. How do I want to feel by the end of today? Picture it. See yourself moving through your day with that energy. Grounded, capable, calm. Every step you're taking right now is rehearsing that reality. Let's seal in that intention with a few affirmations. These are your personal reminders, quick phrases your body and mind can return to you anytime you need a reset. Say them silently or aloud, matching each one to your breath and step if you can. I'm awake, focused, and ready. I move with purpose and ease. Today I create my own momentum. Feel how your posture subtly shifts when saying those to yourself. Your shoulders are back, your chest is open, your chin is lifted. That's confidence settling in. Your body is literally embodying the belief you just spoke. Take one last deep breath in. And exhale all the way out. Let's wind down this walk. You just proved how powerful a few mindful minutes can be. You turned motion into energy and energy into confidence. And that feeling stays with you long after this walk ends. If this mini mile helped you start strong today, and I really hope it did, share it with someone who could use a morning boost too. Follow the podcast so you never miss a new walk. And thank you for joining me today here on the Healing Mile. And I'll see you on the path again soon.
