I'm just a guy who loves music and remembers way too much. It was suggested to me, to start a podcast and share all this useless trivia that I've had stored in my head all these years.

So here I am, having a blast talking about bands, albums, songs, concerts, from my musical journey. We all have our own adventures but you're listening to my tales to tell, or as I say, Music In My Shoes.

Come be entertained and Learn Something New or Remember Something Old!!!

Anna Jensen

My paintings are psychological landscapes and emotionally complex narratives. I combine references to art history, pop culture, natural science and personal chronicles to represent the conflicts of life. The titles are important elements. Like me the stories are at once funny and sad.

"Anna Jensen's paintings are a synthesis of classical and abstract figuration. Her body of work is inspired by moments of both trauma and exaltation. With immense drive and rare sensitivity, Anna demonstrates the power of an individual to prevail through challenges and difficulty through creative transfiguration. Adorned with rigid masks and psychologically rich themes, these entirely personal and individual works take us on a journey through childhood, daily violence and action scenes. Jensen explains: "The more personal art is, the more universal". This unassuming yet genuine formula allows me to understand why I love her work and why I’m hooked on it."

David Lowery

David Lowery is best known as the singer-songwriter and frontman for the two acclaimed bands Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven over the last four decades.  He's been revered in leading the charge of the indie-rock movement with the formation of CVB in the early '80s, spawning such absurdist, left-field pop-rock gems.

After the initial break-up of CVB in 1990, Lowery hooked up with guitarist and friend Johnny Hickman and formed Cracker and proved to be one of the small handful of acts in the early '90s to help spearhead the then burgeoning alt-county scene. Cracker quickly blew up, scoring three Top 10 alternative/rock radio hits, as well as garnering two platinum and two gold albums.

In 2011 Lowery began teaching in the Music Business Certificate program at Terry College, University of Georgia in Athens, GA.  In 2018 he received his doctorate from the Institute for Higher Education at UGA, and a year later he was appointed Senior Lecturer.

Dennis Herring

Dennis Herring's produced Timbuk 3's debut and the record's lead single, "The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades," peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100, propelling the duo to national attention.

Building on this momentum, Herring collaborated with alternative rock outfit Camper Van Beethoven on Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart (1988) and Key Lime Pie (1989), where his production emphasized the group's evolving songcraft, helping solidify their place in the indie scene before the band's initial breakup.
In 1996 he produced Cracker's The Golden Age.

Johnny Hickman

Johnny Hickman is best known for co-founding the band Cracker, but his talents and musical styles run far deeper. His fiery lead guitar sound and spirited co-writing achieved platinum status with Cracker's alternative radio hits Teen Angst, Low, Get Off This, and Eurotrash Girl. Hickman’s guitar playing style, which incorporates elements of alternative rock, country, and blues, has been a defining feature of Cracker’s music.

In addition to his work with Cracker, he has also released solo albums, including “Palmhenge” (2005) and “Tilting” (2012), showcasing his songwriting and performing abilities. Hickman has contributed to numerous albums and collaborations as a musician, working with artists such as Warren Zevon, Chris Whitley, and Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. Kevn Kinney

Kevn Kinney is the lead singer / songwriter of the Atlanta rock band, Drivin N Cryin, who are celebrating their 40th Anniversary in 2025. Since the band's 1985 inception, he's released some spare acoustic records on his own, often collaborating with R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck.

MacDougal Blues, released on Island Records in 1990, announced the rocker's arrival on the folk scene, with the engaging title cut and nine more acoustic tracks, produced by Buck, and mostly played by his bandmates from Drivin N Cryin.

Though often cited as a working-class lyricist, his is a unique spin on class, not urban yet not completely rural.

Kinney still continues to tour as a solo artist in-between dates with Drivin N Cryin. Darius Rucker cut Kinney’s song, Straight To Hell, on his album When Was The Last Time. The Drivin N Cryin song was a major hit on their album, Mystery Road, originally released in 1989.
