Born and raised in the vibrant city of Toronto, my life’s journey has been anything but linear. As an only child, I’ve embraced the opportunities to carve out my own path. Twice married and mother to two beautiful grown adults, my personal experiences have shaped me in profound ways. Embracing change with a new journey into love, location and connection, care and the true art of listening. Next adventure was Queens University and torn between the dream of being a teacher and challenge of being a mom.

My professional voyage began as a hairdresser and salon owner, where I discovered the importance of connection and care. Transitioning to teaching, I found my true calling working with teens facing significant challenges. For over 28 years, I’ve dedicated myself to advocating for these incredible young people and their families, providing much-needed support and resources.

Being a child witnessing divorce made me wonder about different ways of relating.

As a young adult, I betrayed myself, gaslit myself, and talked myself into staying in relationships that caused me and my partner immense amounts of pain instead of joy.

This caused me to figure out ways to get out of the cycle of unhealthy patterns and second-guessing myself. To being out of touch with myself and without a roadmap to connections that would ignite a spark in me each day.

That process led to a deep knowing that partnership is something I truly desire. My journey to learn everything I could about relationships, sexual union, generational trauma, communication, and developing intimacy had begun.

Elaine Lindsay

Elaine’s ultimate goal is to contribute to a world where individuals feel comfortable seeking help. Where communities rally around those struggling with suicide loss, ideation, mental health issues. Where the conversation around these topics is as commonplace as discussing your physical health.

Certainly, as a writer focused on discussing trauma and challenges related to suicide loss, ideation, and mental health, advocacy plays a crucial role in Elaine’s work.

Opening up dialogues about these sensitive and often stigmatized subjects is imperative for raising awareness and building understanding within society.

Emily Cox

I am a neurodivergent therapist who loves supporting people move past barriers and find their strengths through creativity and connection.

I use an empowering and creative approach to connect and support clients in discussing their needs. Sometimes talking about the things we struggle with can be hard. I often add in expressive arts techniques to help ease the way.

Using creative approaches can be especially helpful with young children with big feelings, teens unsure about the talk therapy process, and those working through trauma that can be difficult to discuss through words. I often use creativity, collaboration, and expression in my work. This may look like an expressive art drawing process, a guided visual journaling activity, a narrative prompt, or a Sandtray therapy session. We can find other ways of expression outside of the verbal spectrum.

Sara Deacon

I thrive when I’m connecting with others. I love talking to large groups of people about something awesome. Especially from stage. Where many others might fear public speaking, it’s nowhere on my list.

Hand me the microphone, and you can relax.

I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I graduated from Boston University with an English major and went on to achieve a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing.

This was in the early 2000’s when having a fancy degree was supposed to get you a lifelong career doing something related to that degree. Except it didn’t.

I worked retail and moved to northern Virginia, and worked more retail, and worked as an office administrator, and got married, and had kids and moved back to Wisconsin. I worked as a handwriter, a childcare provider, a postpartum doula, a podcast host, a camp counselor, a martial arts instructor and a life, parenting and “adulting” coach.

Stefanie Jane

As a survivor of child sexual abuse and rape, Stefanie can relate with women who long to heal from trauma. It can be difficult to decide where to start. When you turn your eyes to Jesus, He will give you a path. When you seek after His path, He will heal you along the way. Isaiah 43:1-4 says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you: I have called you by name, you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you…. Because you are precious in My eyes, and honored, and I love you.” God loves you so much and He wants you to find confidence in the person He created you to be. Through the work on the cross, you are an overcomer, you have the victory.

Sunny Lamba

When I lost my mom, I was forced to abandon my childhood and pushed into adulthood. I had to take care of the younger siblings. No one ever asked how I was doing because talking about mental health was a taboo back in those days (unfortunately, it still is).

I attached my worth to helping others, and if I couldn’t make someone happy, the inner mean-girl came knocking: I wasn’t good enough.

I moved from one career to another – never happy never satisfied – because the voice in my head kept telling me there was more to life. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but there was a nagging feeling that I deserved more.
