Claim Your Spotify Listing

After you submit your podcast to Spotify through your Buzzsprout Directories page, you may still want to claim your podcast listing directly through Spotify for Creators. This will give you access to Spotify-specific analytics and tools. 

Since Spotify is also a podcast host, the process of claiming your Buzzsprout podcast on their platform can be a bit confusing. But we'll walk you through the steps to claim your listing while keeping Buzzsprout as your host!

Step 1: Add Your Email to Your Buzzsprout Feed 

Spotify verifies ownership by checking the email address shown in your RSS feed. So, first, you'll want to add your email to your Buzzsprout feed! Here's how: 
  1. Head to your Buzzsprout account and go to  Directories > Email Verification
  2. Enter the email address you'd like Spotify to use for verification and click Add to Feed. We'd recommend adding it to your feed for 48 hours. CleanShot 2025-06-09 at 10.29.13@2x.png

Step 2: Head to Spotify for Creators

  1. In Spotify for Creators, click Get Started, then log in or create an account. 
  2. Select your account icon in the top right-hand corner, and press Add a new show.

  4. Spotify will ask where your show is hosted, and you'll want to select Somewhere else. CleanShot 2025-06-09 at 10.17.34@2x.png

Step 3: Enter Your RSS Feed

  1. In your Buzzsprout account, head to Directories > RSS Feed and copy your RSS link. CleanShot 2025-06-02 at 10.49.28@2x (3).png
  2. Paste this URL back into Spotify for Creators.

Step 4: Complete the Claiming Process

  1. Spotify will send an 8-digit code to the email that you added to your Buzzsprout RSS feed. Check that email and paste the code back into Spotify for Creators. 
  2. Spotify will have you fill out a few more details, and then you can press Submit. 
Now, you can navigate Spotify for Creators' tools and analytics!

Analytics Note: Spotify and Buzzsprout track different metrics, so the analytics shown in Spotify for Creators may differ from those displayed on your Buzzsprout Stats page.

Adding Team Members to a Claimed Show

When you claim your podcast on Spotify, your email becomes the account admin. You'll then be able to invite team members to the podcast on Spotify by following these steps: 
  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Team, then Manage Team.
  3. Fill in your team member's details and select the access levels your team member should have to each feature, and click Invite! 
Then, they'll receive an email to log in and join! You can also check out Spotify's help article on inviting your team to manage a show.
