YouTube Podcasts FAQs

We know that you might have some questions about submitting to YouTube, and we'd love to help! Below you'll find some frequently asked questions.

I already have a YouTube channel. Will I have to create a new one?
No! You'll be able to attach your Buzzsprout podcast to your existing YouTube channel. When you submit your podcast, you'll get to decide which YouTube account you use.

What will my audio podcast look like on YouTube?
If you have an audio podcast with us, your episodes will show on YouTube as a video with a static image of your podcast artwork and your episode's audio. We'll explain more here about how to submit your audio podcast to YouTube

What do I need to do before I submit to YouTube?
YouTube does have a few requirements that we'll break down here: YouTube Podcasts Submission Requirements

Will my YouTube stats show in Buzzsprout?
It depends on which Buzzsprout plan you're on!
  • Audio Plan: If you're on an audio-only plan, YouTube stats will only show on your YouTube Studio. Because of the way they store RSS feeds, you won't be able to see your YouTube downloads included on your Buzzsprout Stats page. But, log into your YouTube Studio account and go to the Analytics tab at any time to see those numbers!
  • Video Plan: If you're on a video plan, we'll be able to show your YouTube views under Stats > Video. They will be in a separate field from your other video downloads, because YouTube tracks views, not downloads. CleanShot 2026-08-07 at 12.05.42@2x.png
Why isn't my new episode showing on my YouTube channel?
When you publish a new episode on Buzzsprout, it should be added to your directory listings within a few hours.

If you're not seeing your episode after 24 hours, head to your YouTube Studio to see if the episode is there. It may be listed as Private. If so, change the episode from Private to Public, and you should see it live on YouTube within 24 hours!

If you replaced the audio file or made a change to an existing episode, you will need to refresh the RSS feed for that episode on YouTube. From the Content > Videos page in YouTube Studio, click the "Re-Upload from RSS feed" option. Then, YouTube will grab the new audio file from your Buzzsprout RSS feed, and you'll see your updated episode! CleanShot 2025-02-05 at 08.10.58@2x.png
