Once you are accepted on a directory you will see future episodes that you publish in Buzzsprout show on your listing automatically. However, you may notice a little bit of a delay between when they are pushed live in Buzzsprout and when you see them in your listings.
Once you publish an episode within Buzzsprout that episode goes into your RSS feed. Directories then check your RSS feed for updates and new episodes so that they can update your listings. However, each directly checks for updates at different times throughout the day. Sometimes it can happen really quickly (within an hour or two) and sometimes it can take up to 24 hours.
Your subscribers won't have to wait as long for new episodes. Podcast apps don't use the Apple Podcasts listing to populate podcasts for their subscribers, instead, the subscriber is connected directly to your RSS feed. This means a subscriber will see the new episode within a couple of hours!
We recommend publishing the episode at 12am on the day that you want the episode to go live. That way, your episode will be in most directories by the time people are waking up and starting their morning commute.
If it has been more than 24 hours and your listing still hasn't updated, then shoot us an email at [email protected] and we will take a closer look at your listing!
Pro Tip: If you notice that all of your listings have updated except for one, that is a good indication that a specific listing is having issues or is delayed, and that there is nothing wrong with your RSS feed.
