How are the Backtrack stats calculated?
Almost all of these stats are calculated based on the number of downloads from the first 7 days for any episode published during 2024.
However, there are two exceptions, Top Episodes and Total Downloads. For these sections, we are calculating based on episodes published during any year. For example, your top-performing episode this year may be one you published in 2021 and your total downloads this year will probably include downloads tracked to episodes uploaded before 2024.
Let's break things down section by section.
Episodes
This section of your 2024 Backtrack shows you the number of episodes you published in 2024!
- You're a Podcast Pro if you published more than 79 episodes.
- You're a Weekly Warrior if you published between 41 and 78 episodes.
- You're a Bi-Weekly Boss if you published between 19 and 40 episodes.
- You're a Monthly Mogul if you published between 9 and 18 episodes.
- You're a Steady Star if you published between 1 and 8 episodes.
Performance & Growth
Now we focus on how your show performed in 2024. If your show is in the top 50% of all Buzzsprout podcasts, you will see that in your backtrack. We calculate that based on the average number of downloads your 2024 episodes received in their first 7 days, compared with the episodes of over 100k Buzzsprout Podcasts.
If you didn't land in the top 50% of podcasters then you may see your growth stats instead! We calculated this by comparing your total downloads from 2024 to your total downloads from 2023.
Cities & Countries
Here we show you where your podcast is the most popular!
You will see your top cities and how many downloads you received from listeners in those cities in 2024. You might even see some top-performing cities that fall outside of your top 5 countries!
Next, you will see your total countries and top 5 countries based on your 2024 downloads.
- You're World Famous if you reached more than 100 countries.
- You're a Globetrotter if you reached between 50 and 99 countries.
- You're a Jet-Setter if you reached between 10 and 49 countries.
- You're a Local Legend if you reached between 1 and 9 countries.
Top Episodes
Here we rank your episodes by total downloads received in 2024. You may see some top-performing episodes this year that were published before 2024, talk about staying power!
Note: If you deleted any episodes in 2024, those episodes and their stats will not be included in your Backtrack data.
