Let's make sure that you're all set up to submit to YouTube! We'll explain each of their requirements here, so you can prepare your Buzzsprout account. Here's what you'll need to have included in your podcast:
Podcast Details
Under Settings > Podcast Settings in Buzzsprout, double-check that the following fields are filled out:
- Podcast Title
- Podcast Description
- Podcast Artwork (3000 x 3000 pixels, PNG or JPG)
- Podcast Category (at least one)
- Language
- Podcast Creator
Podcast Website
YouTube requires a website URL, so you'll need to add that too. Luckily, all Buzzsprout
paid plans include a podcast website! You can also add your own website URL in the
Podcast Website URL field in your Buzzsprout account under
Settings > Podcast Settings > Advanced.
Concise Episode Titles
Shorter episode titles (under 20 characters) work well with YouTube. You can edit these titles by clicking into each episode on the Episodes page in your Buzzsprout account if necessary.
No Dynamic Ads
YouTube is strict when it comes to outside advertising. So, if you have any kind of dynamic ad content running, you’ll need to remove it before submitting your RSS feed.
Host-read ads
are allowed! You'll just need to let YouTube know about them during the
submission process.
