Transcripts are a great tool, and we want to help you use and understand them! Here, we'll answer some of the most common questions about
transcripts in Buzzsprout.
Why should I have transcripts for my episodes?
Transcripts increase your podcast's visibility and accessibility, two great reasons to include them in your episodes!
Episode transcripts turn every word you speak into text, so that your episodes are more discoverable by search engines. For example, let's say your podcast is about real estate, and your latest episode talks about home loans for first-time buyers. If you have a transcript, people searching for “first-time buyers” or "home loans" may see your episode show up in search results.
Episode transcriptions also make your podcast more accessible. People with hearing disabilities can now more easily enjoy your content, and people who don’t understand your native language can use a text translator to tune in!
How do I edit my transcript?
If you generate your transcripts within Buzzsprout, we have a great transcript editor that you can use. Check out our guide on

Can I delete the transcript?Because transcripts add so much value to your podcast, we really encourage you to keep them published. The transcript editor will allow you to edit any major issues, but even an imperfect transcript will be beneficial to your podcast.

Where will my transcripts be displayed?When you create a transcript for an episode, Buzzsprout will display it on your public Buzzsprout website alongside your episode descriptions. Many directories, like Apple, Pocket Casts, and Spotify, will include transcripts on your listings as well.
Can I export my transcripts?Yes, you can export all of your transcripts by going to
Settings > Podcast Settings in the upper right-hand corner of your Buzzsprout account and selecting the
Backup tab. There, you can click
Download your Transcripts. This article will further walk you through that process:

We can generate transcripts in English, Spanish, and French.
Is there a fee to transcribe an episode?
If you are on one of our current paid plans, we will generate transcripts for you at no additional cost. If you use Cohost AI to get transcripts, you will be paying a flat monthly fee to get the complete Cohost AI Summary on every episode, which includes transcripts.
The transcript feature is not available on the free plan. You can upgrade to a
paid plan by going to
Settings > Subscription > Plan in your account.
