Edit Podcast Audio File

Sometimes you need to replace the audio file for an episode if you want to make an edit, or accidentally upload the wrong file.

Use this method to edit the audio file without changing the link, title, or description.

  1. Click the name of the episode you’d like to edit
  2. Click the green Edit button
  3. Click Replace audio file under the embed player
  4. Click choose a file to upload
  5. Select the new file you’d want to upload from your computer
  6. After the new file is uploaded click Go to episode

Note: You may not see the change happen instantly. It will take a few minutes for the new file to be processed and replace the old file. This typically takes 2-5 minutes.

Once the audio file is replaced in your Buzzsprout account then it will automatically update in your listings, with the exception of Spotify.

Replacing the File in Spotify

If you are listed on Spotify and would like the audio file to update in your listing then you have one more step to take. You will need to make a small type change in the title of the episode with the new audio file. Spotify reads their RSS feeds differently then other directories so they will not see the new audio file unless the title is changed. Once the new file updates in your listing you can change the episode title back to the original title in your Buzzsprout account.
