How do I move from Captivate to Buzzsprout?

You can move your show's hosting from Captivate to Buzzsprout while keeping your existing episodes, listings, and listeners. We'll walk you through the process here!

Prepare Your New Buzzsprout RSS Feed

Start by signing up and setting up your Buzzsprout account. This will generate your new RSS feed, which you'll use to update podcast directories. We’ve laid out the full process in our guide about moving your podcast to Buzzsprout. Reach out to us at support@buzzsprout.com if you have any questions along the way!   

Save Your Captivate Analytics

Once you've set up your Buzzsprout account, you'll move on to redirect your Captivate feed. Redirecting your Captivate feed means that you will close your Captivate account, so you'll first want to make sure to save any analytics and data!

All podcast statistics will be found under Analytics in the left-hand navigation menu of your Captivate dashboard! Then, we have a feature where you can manually add your downloads to Buzzsprout!

Redirect Your Captivate RSS Feed

Once you've set up your Buzzsprout account and saved your Captivate data, you'll need to redirect your Captivate RSS feed. This allows you to keep your existing listings and followers. Here's how: 
  1. Log in to your Captivate account. 
  2. On the right-hand side of the page, select Podcast Settings. CleanShot 2025-10-09 at 12.06.34@2x.png
  3.  Scroll down to the bottom of the Podcast Settings page to find the Cancel Show option. CleanShot 2025-10-09 at 12.04.54@2x.png

  5. In Buzzsprout, copy your new Buzzsprout RSS feed (found under Directories > RSS Feed in your Buzzsprout account). CleanShot 2025-10-08 at 15.59.37@2x.png
  6. Back in Captivate, paste your Buzzsprout RSS Feed in the RSS Redirect field, confirm the changes, and press Move Podcast. CleanShot 2025-10-09 at 12.30.40@2x.png
Note: Redirecting your Captivate feed will permanently close your Captivate account. So, make sure that you've saved all your Captivate data and that you would like to proceed before you confirm this action. 
 
Welcome to Buzzsprout! Now that your redirect is in place, Buzzsprout is your new host!  You can post new episodes and updates in Buzzsprout, and they will show on your listings.
